Sumi
A meditative ink puzzle across 100 hand-tuned pages. Place limited drops of ink; each blooms outward through the paper to reach every blossom — without ever touching a vermilion seal.
How to play
Sumi is a quiet puzzle about ink on paper. Each page hands you a small palette of ink drops, each a fixed size. Tap an empty square to set a drop; the ink blooms outward through the paper, spreading a number of squares equal to its size. The task on every page is the same: reach every blossom — and never a seal.
On the page
100 pages
There are 100 hand-tuned pages, opening on calm 5×5 boards and growing to 12×12 with palettes of up to ten drops. Every page is guaranteed solvable — the art is placing your limited ink so it threads between the seals and still reaches every last blossom.
Tips
- A small drop slips into a gap a large one would overflow.
- Place ink beside a seal first — its own body walls the seal off from later blooms.
- Work backwards from a lonely blossom in a tight corner.
